The movie is a first feature written and directed by Sophie Barthes, whose previous film was a short about a middle-aged condom tester who considers buying a box labeled “Happiness” at the drugstore. Clearly this is a filmmaker who would enjoy having dinner with Charlie Kaufman.

  3. Cold Souls () This is a concept movie, in a way, though the concept--that you can have your soul extracted and stored in a jar so that you can live without its weight--is actually a bit thin after awhile. What drives it is not something actually heavy or surreal, about having and trading real souls, but more the idea that your soul also affects, very slightly, your personality, or your talent.

  8. Mar 24,  · The "albums that changed your life" thread got me thinking about an album called "This is Soul". It was a compilation that came out in the UK in the mid to lates sixties. IIRC it had a photo of a soul singer on the cover with a jigsaw motif. Tracks included Sweet Soul Music, Sam and Dave tracks, and a few Otis Redding (Fa Fa Fa sad song was one).
